What is ShopTop?

ShopTop is web-based auto repair shop and garage management software for independent workshops and multi-branch groups. It covers work orders, bay and technician scheduling, parts inventory, estimates, invoices and payments, digital vehicle inspections, online booking requests, technician time tracking, reporting and a customer portal — and it is free to start for a single-bay shop.

What's inside

Built for the way a real workshop runs

Job cards that stay honest

Open a work order from a complaint, log diagnosis, labour and parts, and watch totals build line by line.

Bay and technician scheduling

See every booking by day and bay so nobody double-books the two-post lift again.

Parts inventory with reorder alerts

Stock is deducted as parts hit a job card, and anything below its reorder level surfaces immediately.

Estimates, invoices, payments

Turn a completed job into an invoice in one click, then track partial and full payments against it.

Customer and vehicle history

Every plate carries its full service record: mileage, past repairs and what it's booked in for next.

Customer portal

Your customers sign in to follow repair status and download invoices — without phoning the front desk.

Digital vehicle inspections

Show the customer what you found

Technicians work a red / amber / green checklist on a tablet, add notes and photos, and the report goes out as a link. Customers approve the extra work themselves and it lands straight on the job card.

  • Templated multi-point checklists per service type
  • Photo evidence attached to each failed item
  • One-click customer approval that syncs to the work order

Questions

Common questions about ShopTop

How much does ShopTop cost?
The Starter plan is free forever for a single-bay shop. Garage Pro ($49/mo) and Multi-Bay ($129/mo) are in pilot and can be switched on without a card while we test demand.
Can I manage more than one branch?
Yes. Add locations, keep parts stock per branch, switch between sites and compare branch performance in reports.
Who owns the data I put in?
You do. Your workshop's records are isolated from every other shop, and you can export customers, vehicles, jobs and invoices to CSV at any time.
How do I get started from paper or a spreadsheet?
Create the shop, add your bays and team, then add customers and vehicles as they come in. Most shops are writing job cards on day one without a migration project.
What is included on the free plan?
Owner plus one staff seat, 30 work orders a month, 50 vehicles on file, and full access to scheduling, invoicing, inventory and the customer portal.
Do my customers need to install anything?
No. Estimates, invoices and inspection reports open as links on any phone, and online booking works from the public link your shop shares.
